BMW Group invests in Hungary, Opens a New Plant Near Debrecen
The BMW Group is expanding its manufacturing network in Europe, in the framework of which it will open a new plant in Hungary, near Debrecen. Through the investment of EUR 1 billion, the new factory will have a capacity for of 150,000 vehicles a year, in the meantime creating more than 1,000 new jobs. Quite understandably, references so far have been made to the Bavarian company as an “invisible factory”, since only last year the components and services it procured from Hungarian suppliers totalled more than EUR 1.4 billion. The cooperation, however, is now taken to a higher level.
Another American University to begin operating in Hungary next year
„Another American University will be able to launch its education program in Budapest from next September”, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said ahead of his meeting with Jim Schellinger, the Secretary of Commerce for the State of Indiana. The two met at the Consulate General of Hungary in New York on July 13 2018 to discuss a future agreement between the Hungarian Government and the State of Indiana about the educational cooperation of the two universities.
Revival of the Hungarian-American Relations Expected
It is no exaggeration that in the next period the revival of Hungarian-American bilateral relations can be expected, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on June 3 2018 at a reception at the US Embassy on the eve of Independence Day on which the Minister delivered a speech together with the new Ambassador to Hungary David B. Cornstein.
