Over 600 television professionals from over 60 countries convene annually in New York City for the International Emmy World Television Festival, which takes place the weekend before the International Emmy Awards. 2019 Festival Highlights include the Festival Opening VIP Cocktail at the Consulate General of Hungary.

More than 200 guests from the film industry attended the Reception hosted by the Consulate and the Balassi Institute Hungarian Cultural Center. Hungary’s two nominations for the International Emmy Award this year is the very first time ever and they are an acknowledgement of the country’s entire film industry.

Marina Gera has been nominated for the Best Performance by an Actress award for her role in Eternal Winter, while Trezor, a TV film directed by Péter Bergendy, has nominated for any International Emmy in the TV movie/mini-series category.

H.E. Ambassador István Pásztor, Consule General of Hungary, Mr. Csaba Káel, Hungary’s Government commission for developing the Hungarian national motion picture industry and Bruce Paisner International Academy President & CEO welcomed the distinguished guests at the VIP Cocktail Reception on Friday evening.
